Dick,
IIRC the car is pretty much in the same shape as delivered although there is a screen to show movies in the front end of it. (been years since I was in it).
To understand better logistical issues you have to know that Moingona Iowa which is to the southwest of Boone down in the Des Moines River valley. The car sits next to the depot there but it's a good 500 yards or so off of the paved highway so it'll have to be trucked out of there and then north to Highway 30 to get it at least to Boone before it could be laid on rails.
I don't know if he is still there or not but there used to be a guy at the Mamie Eisenhower birthplace who kind of was the guru of the BCHS...want to say his name was Larry Adams but I don't know if that is correct or not..Nice fellow..very knowledgeable about the area. I seem to think that at one time someone at the Boone and Senic Valley has stated that they had thought about bringing the car out of there but the cost to do that and restore it was pretty outrageous for thier budget.
The more I work full time the less I remember from my days of having time to go poke around. Somewhere at home I've got some photos of it too that I'll try to send you. (I remember taking pictures of the trucks at the time as they amazed me..)

Tom, for some reason I couldn't open any of the attachments. From your
description it does seem to have possibilities. Has there been any
changes made at all to the car sine it was RI owned? Is it railworthy
so that it can be moved by rail, or will it need to be trucked to
wherever it goes?
