[RITSlist] AB6 question

Can someone describe how the light on the roof of an AB6 was used?
 
I have just received a brass model of it from Overland Models and this  light 
does not illuminate when using it on DC mode.  The information from  Overland 
is that the model simply has an MV lens there and not a bulb.
 
Where can I go from here?  Any ideas?
