[RITSlist] Rock Island Steel Caboose Roof

Hi Jeff,

What is being discussed is that this particular caboose seems to have had its traditional canvas covered wood roof replaced with an all steel roof in the early 60's.  We have two pictures taken about 4 years apart with fresh paint and in the latter one, there is evidence of raised roof ribs and a steel grid running board.  We are interested in what style of roof, diagonal panel or ...? and if any of the running board material is still attached, its configuration, as well.

If you can get any photos that show what the roof looks like, they would be most appreciated.

  Caboose is in fact at Bob's Tie Yard in Memphis. The caboose can be seen from the interstate. It is on the south side of the I-240 loop around the south side of Memphis







   
    The RITS site has a list that reports this caboose is at Bob's Tie Yard in, or near, Memphis, in case any members have access or can confirm any of this.
