Hello, Michael - You should check out REMEMBER THE ROCK magazine Vol. 2 No.2 for Summer 2005 for the feature article by Steve Glischinski "Rock Island in the Twin Cities".  It includes a great map of the area with all the railroads identified.  I'm sure you'll find answers to many of your questions in this issue.  Contact me off-list if you like.   PAW
