This recent talk of saved cabooses reminds us that appearances can be decei=
ving: there's a beautifully restored RI outside-braced wood car in Spencer,=
IA painted for the Milwaukee Road and a Milwaukee Road ribbed bay-window c=
aboose in Wilton, IA painted for the Rock Island.

Novice spotters are encouraged to investigate thoroughly and seek help from=
credible sources (like RITS) to determine a caboose's history.
