[RITSlist] RI Cabooses and mea culpa

Meredith is absolutely correct about the city and number.  I goofed and I appreciate the civility that others showed when correcting me.  Like a famous musical about Iowa says: "you gotta know the territory!"

The "Milwaukee Road" caboose #17687 is in Sanborn and a picture can be found at http://blackhawk.artsalive.org/photos/sanborn_ia_caboose.jpg  The hanging flower basket is not original equipment.

My hat's off to any individual, group or community who restores a caboose, despite its authenticity.  As part of his Eagle Scout project, a local teen undertook the interior restoration of RI #17869 in Tinley Park and you can read about what went into this project at http://blackhawk.artsalive.org/17869.htm

As for those who don't approve of our caboose hunting, they are more than welcome to bring something of their interest to the discussion.
