[RITSlist] Tucumcari-Amarillo

I recently traveled along the old Route 66 between Tucumcari, NM and  
Amarillo, TX. while on business for my employer, Mack Trucks, Inc.     During this 
drive, I discovered many "Prairie Skyscrapers" that had been  abandoned.  At a 
diner in Wildorado, TX, the waitress told me that these  closed after the old 
CRI&P mainline was pulled up in the 1980's.    Is anyone aware of a book or 
perhaps an website that documents the old Rock  Island operations between these 
towns?
