Seeing this is my first post, I suppose a short intro couldn't hurt. For
those of you who don't know me I'm Nick Trimberger. Grew up in southeast
Wisconsin along the WC (now CN) and recently moved to Ottumwa (IA) for a job
after graduating from college. I'm starting to lay some groundwork for a
small N-scale layout in my apartment, and was thinking of having part of it
be based on the Rock Island's K&DMV line (subdivision 4B?) baround Ottumwa
and Eldon, circa 1970. Anyways, this leads me to a couple of questions.

1. What did the Rock have for industries in Ottumwa/Eldon around 1970 or so?

2. Was there any regularily scheduled trains on this line or was it local
service only? What sort of power was used on this line?

3. Did any interchange take place in Ottumwa with the CBQ, MILW, or N&W? If
so, any on what?

4. At Eldon, was there any sort of assigned yard job in that time frame?

That's all I have for now but I'm sure I'll have a few other questions pop
up down the road. Thanks in advance for any info anyone can provide.

NBT
