  A written accouting of all the ugly details will explain the reason the board took the actions it did in Des Moines will be in the next mailing of the Rock/ Rocket which should be due out late this month. This will go out to RITS members only. Nothing more will be discussed on this list about this subject due to this being a public list. To those members on the list please feel free to contact President Jack Carson about this subject

  We have been told on the RITS list that those of us who are still RITS members will be getting a written explanation for these events.  How long does it take to get this official, written notice to the membership?  
   
  If the situation within RITS was so dire that it was necessary to take the immediate action by the board (as opposed to simply resolving the problem at the RITS election this fall), it would seem equally necessary to get the information to members in a timely, expedited fashion. 
   
  Have any other RITS members received the written explanation which was promised at the time this board action was first revealed?

      To all concerned:     This is to advise that the Board of Directors of the Rock Island Technical Society, in its meeting in Clive (Des Moines), Iowa on Sunday, May 6th, 2007, voted to terminate immediately the memberships of Karen Huerter, Membership Secretary, and of Howard L. Hoy, Vice-President.       Mr. Jack Carson, President, has appointed James F. Welch, Davenport, Iowa, to serve the remainder of the term of Vice-President.   The RITS Board also named Dave Engle as Interim Membership Secretary.  All mail for memberships, and any other matters of the Society, is to be sent to Dave at 11519 North Wayne, Kansas City, MO 64155-2914; effective immediately.         Any questions or other comments are to be directed to President Carson at 1000 Jefferson Ave., Bellevue, IA 50231-1018, phone 563-451-7458.
