I want to thank everyone who responded to my flat car question.  In
doing

a little additional research I believe the Proto 53'-6" AAR Flat car is
a good

match for Rock Island's 91100-91599 series flat cars.  There is a photo
of one

of these cars on Jeff Prince's great website hauling a wrecked covered
hopper.

It also seems the Proto car may be a good starting point for Rock
Island's

rebuilt and lengthened flat cars.  The length seems to match the ORER
and it has the

correct number of stake pockets.  The end sill needs to be thinned
somewhat

and the center stake pocket is offset in the wrong direction from the
car centerline

but these are minor changes.  Splice plates would also have to be added.
