Go to terraserver.microsoft.com to view the USGS quads. Enter Dalhart, TX
and then zoom out one to the middle setting. This gets the old 1:250,000
scale map from 1976. It has a dotted line for this route.

The old Rock Island line from Morse through Sunray and on to
Dalhart-does anyone know where the line actually linked to the Rock
Island in the Dalhart area? I have tried to trace the line with MS
Virtual Earth and Google Earth and can only find it to within about ten
miles from Etter, TX. I know it folows TX281 closely on the south side
of the road, at least the track was still there about six or sven years
ago, IIRC. Any help would be appreciated.
