I believe that my great-grandfather worked for the Chacag Rock Island & Pacific RailRoad Company. His job was to make sure that the tracks were clear of rock and trees near Ledwidge, Arkansas. He was killed on the morning of April 1, 1932. My grandmother told me she heard the train whistle blow on her way to school. She could tell by the sound of the whistle that someone had been killed. I am looking for some kind of record that could verify her story. If you have any information on the subject I would really apprecate if you would pass it along. I believe that I found some information about a law suit that was finalized in 1933 or 1934. If there is any way for me to get a copy of it I would like that. I believe that there was a depot in Ledwidge and if there is a picture I would like one of those too. I am really interested in the history of that line. If you will get in touch with me I would be very grateful!!
Sincerely,
Teresa Hunt
