The Jane Marie is the former Rock Island coach "Des Moines" number 330.
First assignment on R.I. was the Twin Star Rocket. It later ran throughout the system.
It was still on the roster at shutdown running the Peoria or Quad Cities trains.

The marker lights are indeed original from the Rock Island. I have the kerosene pots for them
and have used them on special occasions. The electric insert is used for Amtrak running.

Car was delivered as a 68 seat long distance coach in April 1947. I bought the car in 1989, rebuilt to a business / private car floor plan and have been running her since 1991.

Let me know how to get ahold of you and I will give you the tour next time we are in San Antonio.

We were parked at the San Antonio depot  last Wednesday and Thursday.

  The former RI passenger car "Jane Marie" passed through San Antonio Texas last night, behind Amtrak #2.

  The car appeared to be in very good condition and was wearing a drumhead proclaiming "Chandler, 
  Arizona". Marker lights appeared to be by Dressel, and were electric.

  Can anyone share information about this car, such as build date, which train sets it was assigned
  to, and who owns the car?
