Re: [RITSlist] RI Russell snowplowHello, Brian - I have a couple of my own b&w photos that show the rear and the "other" side of the 95360. Please wait patiently for a couple of weeks while I print and scan these.
Hello, Bob Jack - The Russell plows were 'store bought'. They look sorta like a caboose with a cupola, but with a plow at one end (and no platform/steps at the other end). Quite a few railroads had these. The Rock Island plows were all built for single track use - the knife edge of the plow was on the center line so the snow was thrown to both sides. "Thrown" is the operative word. These plows worked best when they hit drifts at least at 40 mph. Not for the faint of heart. My favorite Russell was on the C&NW. It was designed as a "left-handed, double-track" model. PAW

Hello, Brian - I'll send over scans of the builder's photo of the 95358 and also the diagram sheet for the three Russell plows. Lemme know that you've gotten them OK. Thanks PAW

If that is the one mounted on the loaf of bread tender, I have photos that I took in Silvis circa 1974.

Does anyone have pictures of any of these three plows, other than what's in the Hile book?
