Dear RITS:

 

I am the acquisitions editor in charge of railroad publishing at St.
Paul-based book publisher MBI (Voyageur Press and Motorbooks).
Currently, I am looking to add the Rock Island to our expanding list of
Railroad Color Histories and am on the hunt for an author or co-authors.
These books are intended to be (comparatively) inexpensive overviews of
U.S. and Canadian railroads past and present. Books already in the
series include New Haven, DRGW, PC, Conrail, Amtrak, CN, CPR, VIA Rail,
DMIR, MILW, Chessie, and IC, with NYC, Pennsy, B&O, SP, Southern, NS,
and CNW in the works. The books are hardcover, 160 pages, and retail for
$36.95. They run 25,000 words and feature 150 photos (roughly 100 color
and 50 b&w). We pay on an advance-and-royalty basis.
