[RITSlist] Rock Island F unit use in the late 70's

  The last F-units in service in the late 1970's were the 675, 676, 677 and these were used in commuter service until the F-40's showed up. After the F-40's these 3 were used on the Illinois Division due to having cab signals. I really don't think these 3  F-units got west of Silvis.July 1979 was the last month the F-uints were used. What F-units that were in service in the mid-70's were used as trade-in fodder for the GP-38-2's

Where did the Rock Island F-units call home in the late 1970's particularly 1979?  Did they make their way anywhere near Belleville or Topeka, Kansas?  Were they used for regular freight service?  Thank you.
