It is my understanding that there was also a depot there until about
1925 or 1926. The south leg of the wye was used for inbound and
outbound RI trains to and from the station, or southbound trains going
to Pueblo. The northbound leg of the wye was for interchange with the
D&RGW or for trains going north to Denver. The tracks within the wye
were part of the yards where switching and train makeup was handled.
Have you seen the track diagrams in the book from Colorado RR Museum
Annual #17 by Mel MAcFarland? Some explanation of trackage there too.
