Agents did have a cheat sheet.  It was called either the Bulletin board or employees time table.  Golden State was an extra fare train trying to compete with a high speed schedule.   Stopping at every station along the line would have defeated this purpose.   When agent had psgrs for number 3, he would tell the dispr and note would be handed with orders to train crew to stop at Centerville.  I worked Centerville several times during 1958/1960 and only saw 4 stop once to let off psgrs.

Crew change points were at Eldon IA  and Trenton MO for engine crews.  Don't know about the Condr and brakemen.  Some agreements allowed Condr and one brakeman to cross division points.   314 miles from Rock Island to Kansas City and 221 to Trenton.   Not sure, but possible that the Condr and one brakeman or maybe both brakemen when all the way from Rock Island to Kansas City
