One more thing about the Jet Rocket,  It was not Spanish-built, but was Built by American Car & Foundry in Berwick, Pennsylvania.  The design was substantially changed from the Talgos built in Spain so much that both Rock Island and ACF called it a "Talgo-type."
The spilled coffee story may be true.  Dining car crews were forbidden to serve coffee south of Bureau on the Peoria branch, as the tablecloths would slide off the tables due to the vibration. Later The cloths were held in place by clips.  Jim Neubauer
