Hello
Pls find links to scans of 2 ads
related to RI gas-electric "box-motors"
Both about so-called "1st series"
i.e. conversions from postal cars
An ARMCO ad dated 1928
http://www.quiot.com/general_pics/RiBoxMotor_AdRailwayAge_1928December08.png
++ this one shows initial configuration
probably with both engines at one end
and baggage door the other end
++ old style radiators
A GE ad dated 1930
http://www.quiot.com/general_pics/Ad_GE_RI_BaggageMotors.png
++ this one shows final 1st series configuration
with engines installed symetrically
and baggage door in middle
++ also radiators of newer style
Any comment ?
Who has comments (tech. remarks,
positive/negative evaluations) about
those "old style" radiators which look just
like those installed on GE Gas Electrics ?
Which improvements using new style ?
Does it mean that there were
spceliazied manufacturers for such radiators
which sold their solutions
to several car/locomotive manufacturers
(GE, EMC, IR, ...)
?????
Sincerely yours
