  Rock Island 4-6-2 # 886 was the last steam locomotive to pull a passenger train into Peoria.  When the City of Peoria asked the Rock for a steam locomotive, they requested the 886.  Unfortunately, in the ensuing years of sitting on the dead line, the 886 had deteriorated badly.  So the Rock Island pulled sister engine 887 off of the deadline as she was in better condition, and renumbered her 886.  Apparently the Peoria area folks are still none the wiser after all of these years!
