[RITSlist] SW-1500 questions

  Can some one tell me just what "switcher safety control" is. It is listed on some of the CT-65 forms I have which list locomotive assignments and am wondering what it is? Anyone have a clue?
   
  Also as described in last digest (#24) did the SW-1500's suffer the same  bolster and sideframe cracking as the SW-1200's?
