My notes say they got their lower fluting and names in 1947.

RI Color Pictorial Vol 1 (Marre) shows one of these cars in red over
stainless steel fluting Golden State paint in 1952.
According to SPH&TS TRAINLINE #59, 6 cars were painted for GS.

The cars had names and the cosmetic fluting added in 1947, also according
to Randall.

Does anyone have the shopping and modification sequence for the Pullman
Standard coaches constructed in 1938 for the Californian?

It is known that these cars were delivered in a dark (coach green with
pin stripes) paint scheme with gold lettering. Later, they were painted
silver with black lettering and assigned to various Rocket consists.
Still later (1947 ?), fluting was applied below the windows. At some
point during this process the cars also received names.

Specifically, it would be helpful to know the time that the cars were
repainted silver, as well as the time that the cars received names. Did
the receive names when first painted silver, or when the fluting was
applied in 1947?

Thanks.
