[RITSlist] 11/8/08 Slide Show in Iowa City, IA

The former Rock Island mainline across Iowa has lived on as the Iowa 
Interstate Railroad for nearly 24 years.  On 11/08/08, there will be 
an Iowa Interstate slide/video show, conducted by local railfans, at 
the St. Marks United Methodist Church; 2675 E. Washington St.; Iowa 
City, IA.  We had a similiar event three years ago, and a couple guys 
showed up with some old Rock Island slides.  Hopefully the same will 
happen again this year.  Thus, all are welcome to attend.  I realize 
it is nearly seven months away; but, this will give people time to 
plan their vacations in the Iowa City area.  That date happens to be 
an Iowa home football game, which has it's plus and minus 
factors.  The plus factor is the Hawkeye Express football train 
pulled by IANR #678, which is a former Antrak F40PH, painted in Rock 
Island passenger colors.  The minus factor is that motel rooms can be 
higher priced and scarse for a football weekend.  Hope to see many of 
you fine people on November 8th.
