[RITSlist] Qusetions on Rock Island 50-foot Pullman Standard Boxcars

Greetings Rockologists,

I have been researching the Rock Island's 300000,
301000, and 302000 series boxcars, which appear to be
their last new boxcars, built in 1978-1979. In
particular, I am curious about the Pullman Standard
series (301800-302249 if my research is correct)
because hardly any photos exist of them and I am
modeling some of these boxcars in HO scale.

Based on my initial research, I believe the blue ones
went straight to MMA for repainting while the white
ones ended up with CNW. This led me to a few
questions and I would appreciate anyone's help:

1. Does anyone have any photos of the blue Pullman
Standard cars, number series starting with 301800?

2. Why did the Rock Island change the boxcar scheme to
white at the very end?

3. Were there any other orders for more boxcars
pending as the railroad was liquidated; i.e. were
there supposed to be more Pullman Standard cars in
later number series (303000)?

4. Are there any other resources (magazines, websites,
etc) that I should look into?

Thanks again for your help!

Highest regards,
Eric Miller
