The blue and stylized R was used on the cover of the 1974 annual
report, which, of course, was issued in 1975.
The first use of the scheme and THE ROCK slogan on a locomotive was
on GP7u 4508 in 4-75.
I believe the first use on freight equipment was also in the spring
of 1975, I think on 40ft boxcars sold to US Railway Equipment,
reconditioned, and leased back, although El Reno could have started
using it on repaints first.
Looks like the first use of the black R scheme on gons was in 1977.
The first use of the ROUTE ROCK slogan was in 1978 on new car
deliveries, looks like starting with the 300000-300499 series FMC
boxcars in 8-78, but El Reno used both THE and ROUTE on cars into
late 1979.
The first use of the white reverse scheme was either in 7-79 on the
PS boxcars Eric asked about, unless one of the few bay window
cabooses were repainted earlier.

Nope, the W&OV cars were built at the tail end of the order.
