Hello to all y'all out there
in Rock Island land, i am a new addition to the RITS list, and thought
i would introduce myself.My name is Kevin, I am (obviously) a devout
fan of all things Rock, and am currently working on a small (apartment
living, eck!!) Rock Island switching layout based in the south side of
chicago in 1979 (ho scale). I am also an avid railfan. 

First order of business, does anyone have any concrete evidence of what
happened to the pair of Rock Island SW 1500's that were hanging around
various NRE facilities for the last dozen years or so? When i lost
track of them, they were back home in Silvis sitting on the west side
of the old shops, that was back in 2002. I've since heard they were
parted out and finally scrapped. I have also heard, they were stripped
to the frame and rebuilt. Any leads? Thanks everyone, great to be here!
