This is a sad day for all RI fans. I had the great fortune to meet Lloyd on a trip to KS about 10 years ago and had planned on getting together with him on my next trip to see my folks. He entertained me for a couple hours in his home with wonderful answers to my many questions about the Rock......and all this for a total stranger.
He is already being missed!
RIP friend

Lloyd was a great gentleman and most knowledgeable of the various steam and diesel motive power used on several railroads of the Great Plains area including the Rock Island of which most RI fans are aware of through his various publications. His contributions to society and railfans in general will be missed, but will live on in history through his publications. Our sympathy and prayers are extended to his family during their sorrow.
Carl
