In addition to what Bob says, the diagram sheet shows that this series, 
47100 - 47174, was renumbered in 1964 from series 148550 - 149049 which were 
originally built in 1945.  At this point, the had their original Duryea 
cushion underframes removed and the DF2 loaders and lining added.

The diagram shows the original roofs were retained.  However, it certainly 
seems that this particular car, in fact, had had its roof replaced.  If we 
had access to the individual car card records, we could possibly tell if 
this was a "one of" situation or more common.
