Greetings, I found your email address re: the upcoming RI convention. I had 
2 uncles (both deceased, unfortunately) who worked for the chicago, rock island 
... line. One in particular that I'm interested in investigating died at age 20 
in Pueblo, CO while a machinist for the rr. He died jan. 18, 1932 and I would 
like to find company records that confirm his employment history, reason for 
leaving, any awards received, and that sort of thing.
   His name was Jewell Smith and I had excellent help from the 
geneaology dept. in the Pueblo library re: 3 small notices in the newspaper, 
name of funeral home, the fact that his brother came from Chicago to accompany 
his body home, etc. One mystery not resolved was that some of the family 
believed foul play was involved even though the cause of death was listed as 
"flu." Any help you might give me re: how to find RI records re: his employment, 
absences re: illness etc. would be greatly appreciated.
