Yes there was a station near Norton named Lau..I think it was one of the connections to the CB&Q's St. Francis or Orleans branches.? When the dam (name escapes me) was built and the line relocation done in the late 40's or 50's the Q abandoned a piece of their branch and operated over the RI from a station named Almena Jct to whatever the get off point was...I think that was renamed Lau in memory of M.E. Lau, District Maintenance Engineer on the First District.? Lau was killed at Burlington, Colorado in April 1964when he was knocked off a TTX flatcar being moved by a dozer supervised by B.F. Wells.
I was there.
