[RITSlist] Why? TTPX flat #80570

If you look on page 84 of Steve Hile's Color Guide book, you see more examples in the auto-rack and verti-pak cars, note the different colors on the same car there.  My guess is that it is some sort of leasing arrangement between the car builder and the railroad using it the most, for bookkeeping and tracking purposes.  It could be, seemingly a stretch, that there is a split ownership, with TTX owning only the flatcar frame and the railroad owning the upper body part.  Apparently in some cases, anything above the plane of the car deck was considered separate equipment, even if it was a permanent attachment to an otherwise incomplete car body.   DJE
