Possibly, but why guess and conjecture when we know for a fact that
the practice officially existed? We know that Trailer Train cars that
are assigned long-term to specific roads are leased by those roads,
and we know that in the 1960s a few that were on long-term lease had
railroad heralds, logos, initials or even paint applied. I provided
several examples yesterday. Although the practice did not last long,
cars marked this way could be seen long after the practice ended. For
example, I shot chain flat OTTX 97044 with a load of Massey Ferguson
combines in 1985, still with a small Rock Island shield on its side
sill, same as on TTPX 80570's bulkhead.

Here are some more specific examples:
PTTX 92251, 92266, 92270, wallboard bulkhead flats with stacked B&O
initials, three of several such cars leased to and marked for the B&O

RTTX 477119, an 89ft flat painted Wabash blue with standard white
Trailer Train lettering, and a blue Wabash-marked trilevel auto rack
RTTX 911395, same
RTTX 911558, same
BTTX 910212, same, but this one was a bilevel
BTTX 911415, same
BTTX (number unreadable), same, but with an N&W-marked bilevel
(probably ex-Wabash)
BTTX 910720, an 89ft flat painted Frisco yellow with black (reverse)
Trailer Train lettering, and a yellow Frisco-marked bilevel auto rack
TTBX 930924, same
RTTX 911938(?), same but a trilevel

I don't keep track of double-stack well cars, but I do know that
there were DTTX wells in full Trailer Train paint with railroad
heralds, logos or initials, so the practice was revived in the
1980s-90s.
