I know that in Remember The Rock Vol. 3, No. 4 Winter 2006 on page 20-21 there is a George Strombeck picture of D&RG No. 1 (The Royal Gorge) and R.I. No. 8 (The Rocky Mountain Rocket) together at Colorado Springs in August of 1966. But that is all I can tell you about the line in that area.

In about 1888, the D&RG granted trackage rights to the CRI&P between Denver-Pueblo, CO.
This was for both freight and passenger traffic.
Can anyone provide more information?
Are there any written references?
Did the D&RG crew CRI&P engines over D&RG rails?
When did the agreement come to an end?
Presumably sements were reliquished progressively as routes became unprofitable.
