That initial "Create Profile" box doesn't tell you that you must enter a single continuous lower-case string of letters/numbers, beginning with a letter, with no spaces and no oddball characters such as #,% etc.  It wouldn't accept my real name, which (like most names) happens to include upper case letters and spaces. If you happen to correctly blunder into doing it correctly (as I successfully blundered), it will then retroactively tell you all of this. At least, that's my experience, after many attempts.
