A block of rooms at $79 has been set aside for Rock Island Technical Society Convention registrants,
so be sure to ask for the special rate.
The Friday night meal and the Saturday activities:
The Port of Burlington
Building next to the Mississippi River in Downtown Burlington will host the Friday night meal and Saturday’s swap meet, displays, model (& photo) contest, meeting and banquet will all take place in this building.
From Comfort Suites take US61 north to 34, then east to the downtown Burlington exit.Drive east towards the river and look for Visitor Center signage.
Friday’s bus tour will leave from the Comfort Suites parking lot at 9:30 AM.
On Friday evening after the room is rearranged for the morning’s swap meet, we will have a screen available for viewing slides etc. The room is naturally lit so it will be 8:30 or so before viewing will be possible. Bring your own equipment for projection, including extension cords.
If you are registered for the convention you are still registered; If you had a room at the Howard Johnson, You should make other reservations. There will be several areas of the convention that are adapted to meet our needs. The biggest compromise might be the room for our swap meet. It is a semi outdoor room with no air conditioning.
We apologize for any inconvenience, but the leadership of RITS believes these arrangements are more reliable for your visit to Burlington.
