This display is available to any RITS member who would like to use it for shows or meets. It is 8 ft long by 3 ft high and is lighted. It packs down into a case that fits pretty well in the back of a larger car. Complete information on the use of the display appears below.

We would like to have additional photos to use on the display so that when it travels to different locations we have some photos that represent that area. For information about available dates please contact me.

Rock Island Technical Society
Policy for use of RITS Display
(standing policy awaiting board authorization)

The Rock Island Technical Society owns a display, which can be used at
railroad shows, swap meets, conventions and other activities deemed
pertinent to the Society's interests. The display is available to any
member who may want to use it, as long as said member agrees to follow
the policies set forth by RITS.

The tabletop display is 8 feet long by 3 feet high and includes a lighted
signboard and brochure holders. It also contains all materials needed to
set up the display. The following policies concern the display:

1. The display is the property of RITS and may not be used for any purpose
other than events deemed relevant to RITS.

2. The display will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Individuals who request use of the display must make such request to the
secretary no less than 3 weeks prior to the day of the function. The
secretary shall maintain a calendar listing requests.

3. Fees charged by event sponsors will be the responsibility of the
person requesting the display. In some cases historical societies are given
booth space at reduced or no cost.

4. The display may be shipped to the location of the person requesting its
use or other suitable arrangements may be made. RITS will pay for the cost
to ship the unit one way with the responsible party paying the cost of
returning it or shipping it to the next function.

5. Materials supplied for the display are property of RITS and any
unauthorized use or reproduction of any material on the display without the
express consent of the RITS board is prohibited.

6. Parties who receive the display to use at an event shall, at the end
of such event, contact the Secretary to inform same of any materials that
need to be replaced, such as membership applications.

7. The display must be supervised at all times unless other arrangements
are made with RITS. Exceptions can be made in situations where it will
be used at a convention or other function where the display will remain for
an extended period of time.

8. Parties responsible for the display will agree to maintain the display
and to report any loss or damage to the secretary immediately.

9. Persons using the display will ship the display at the direction of
the secretary immediately following its use.

10. Individuals using the display must remember that they are representing
RITS and conduct themselves in a manner accordingly. They may at no time
make any representations that they are not certified to make, concerning
any official RITS positions or the business of the Board of Directors or
officers of RITS.
