This display is available to any RITS member who would like to use it for shows or meets. It is 8 ft long by 3 ft high and is lighted. It packs down into a case that fits pretty well in the back of a larger car. Complete information on the use of the display appears below.

Rock Island Technical Society Policy for use of RITS Display (standing policy awaiting board authorization) The Rock Island Technical Society owns a display, which can be used at railroad shows, swap meets, conventions and other activities deemed pertinent to the Society's interests. The display is available to any member who may want to use it, as long as said member agrees to follow the policies set forth by RITS. The tabletop display is 8 feet long by 3 feet high and includes a lighted signboard and brochure holders. It also contains all materials needed to set up the display. The following policies concern the display: 1. The display is the property of RITS and may not be used for any purpose other than events deemed relevant to RITS. 2. The display will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Individuals who request use of the display must make such request to the secretary no less than 3 weeks prior to the day of the function. The secretary shall maintain a calendar listing requests. 3. Fees charged by event sponsors will be the responsibility of the person requesting the display. In some cases historical societies are given booth space at reduced or no cost. 4. The display may be shipped to the location of the person requesting its use or other suitable arrangements may be made. RITS will pay for the cost to ship the unit one way with the responsible party paying the cost of returning it or shipping it to the next function. 5. Materials supplied for the display are property of RITS and any unauthorized use or reproduction of any material on the display without the express consent of the RITS board is prohibited. 6. Parties who receive the display to use at an event shall, at the end of such event, contact the Secretary to inform same of any materials that need to be replaced, such as membership applications. 7. The display must be supervised at all times unless other arrangements are made with RITS. Exceptions can be made in situations where it will be used at a convention or other function where the display will remain for an extended period of time. 8. Parties responsible for the display will agree to maintain the display and to report any loss or damage to the secretary immediately. 9. Persons using the display will ship the display at the direction of the secretary immediately following its use. 10. Individuals using the display must remember that they are representing RITS and conduct themselves in a manner accordingly. They may at no time make any representations that they are not certified to make, concerning any official RITS positions or the business of the Board of Directors or officers of RITS.
